  •  While some claim that it "destroyed" the enjoyment that comes with watching football games, others claim that there are many less referee errors now. In the debate about VAR technology, all sides are essentially correct.

It would be quite unusual if video technology were to stop being used in contentious circumstances, though, given the football community as a whole has grown accustomed to it. But on Wolverhampton's recommendation, the English Premier League's members decided just this during a meeting on Thursday.

Ultimately, though, the Wolves remained the minority—or, more accurately, the only ones—who supported the Island's return to factory football. Thus, following 20 clubs' votes, the final count was 19 in favour of keeping VAR in place and 1 against.

This proposed transformation has been a catastrophic disaster for Wolverhampton. Recall that a two-thirds majority vote was required to overturn the decision, meaning that the Wolverhampton move needed the backing of at least 14 out of the 20 clubs. In the world's top league, which began utilising VAR in 2019, this is how the system is still in use.
